The international day for the Autism awareness - April 2, 2013

The international day for the Autism awareness April 2 marks the International Day for Autism Awareness, date that has been set by United Nations on December 18 2007. Worldwide, around this day, organizations that promote the cause of the people with autism develop actions to draw attention to issues of this disease that affects, according to recent studies, one in 100 people, and became a priority in health policies of member states.

In Iasi, The National Association for Children and Adults with Autism (ANCAAR), Iasi branch, in partnership with the “Bethany” Social Services Foundation together with local partners: Star of Hope, The “Anchor of Salvation” Foundation, The “Blue smile” association) prepared events and public manifestations for the 6th edition of “Show that you care” campaign, through a series of public events dedicated for children and youngsters with Autism.

These events were part of the project “NGO’s Capacity Growth”, implemented in Iasi. The project provided social services for children and youngsters with disabilities and was co-financed through a grant from Switzerland, through Swiss Contribution for extended European Union.
